the PRODUCTION of H2A
unfortunately, being a very quickly made production, there's not much to talk about with "h2a", but i'll do what i can!!
h2a is one of my earliest student projects during my time making films in high school. if i recall correctly, we were supposed to do a "how-to" video, which i didn't really want to shoot (simply because i didn't have the time or set), so i went the... longer route, and animated something instead. yeaaaa. on this deadline, the storyboarding, animation, backgrounds and compositing work were all, respectively, finished within a night.
this was my first delve into matte painting, and while the backgrounds themselves are nothing too complex, i still learned a lot about the process. i enjoyed it a lot. maybe i'll utilize it again. this was also my first time simulating a "handheld" or "drone-y" camera effect. i think i pulled it off pretty well. it came out a lot better than i thought it would. i definitely skimped out on the animation a bit though. what're you gonna do.
the horrible, horrible narration was actually a scratch track. i was trying to do some kind of 60s strange announcer voice, but i don't really have the voice for that. plus, it was too late to get anybody else on board. so... you make do. i was also using a really crappy USB microphone. times were different.
